Required qualifications

15+ years of professional engineering experience

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Civil, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline

10+ years in project engineering/management roles with demonstrated success leading large-scope projects and increased organizational responsibility

Strong understanding of nuclear engineering principles, project management methodologies, and NRC/state regulatory standards

Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in South Carolina or ability to obtain within 30 days

Proven leadership and cross-departmental collaboration experience

About this role

Senior Project Engineering Manager for the VC Summer AP1000 nuclear project. Serve as the critical technical and organizational interface between Westinghouse Project Engineering, Licensing, Construction, Owner, and NRC Regulator. Coordinate complex multi-stakeholder collaboration on a major nuclear infrastructure initiative, requiring deep technical expertise in nuclear engineering principles and demonstrated ability to manage large-scope, high-complexity projects.

Responsibilities

Interface and collaborate with Westinghouse Project Engineering, Construction, Owner, and NRC Regulatory teams to align technical deliverables and project objectives

Lead cross-functional meetings and workshops as the primary Westinghouse representative, communicating technical positions to internal and external stakeholders

Develop and manage schedules and budgets for contract-related engineering scopes of work

Review, approve, and ensure quality of engineering and project engineering documents per regulatory and contractual requirements

Identify and remove cross-company barriers, coordinate interdepartmental needs, and drive collaborative problem-solving to ensure project milestones and regulatory compliance

Preferred qualifications

Civil engineering background with infrastructure and environmental project experience

EPC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction) experience on AP1000 or similar large nuclear projects

Recent hands-on construction and construction/engineering management experience

Advanced degree (MBA or M.S. in Engineering)

Location, schedule, and travel

VC Summer Nuclear Station, South Carolina. 25–50% onsite during early project phases, ramping to full-time onsite as project construction advances.
