Senior Electrical Engineer
About this role
Senior Electrical Engineer at Westinghouse designing and analyzing electrical systems, instrumentation, and controls for operating nuclear plants and new nuclear projects. Based in Kitchener, Ontario with hybrid arrangement (2 days/week onsite), supporting cross-functional engineering teams.
Responsibilities
- —Perform engineering design and analysis for nuclear electrical systems, instrumentation, controls, and system wiring
- —Develop engineering design documentation including technical evaluations, calculations, specifications, and obsolete parts equivalencies
- —Evaluate and apply nuclear standards, techniques, and procedures to ensure safe and compliant electrical designs
- —Use engineering software tools (ETAP, Mathcad, Maximo) and learn new tools as required
- —Coordinate with internal engineering and project teams to obtain information and meet schedule requirements
Qualifications
- —Minimum 5 years professional electrical engineering experience
- —Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
- —Experience with electrical system design (load flow studies, short circuit analysis, protective relay settings, instrumentation and controls, system wiring)
- —Knowledge of power plant systems and equipment
- —Experience developing procurement specifications, reviewing supplier proposals, and supporting operating plants with engineering documentation
