Required qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or equivalent combination of education and related experience. 5+ years of relevant experience in directly related field (power generation/nuclear construction preferred). Strong knowledge of cost controls principles, project management, data verification, and statistical analysis. Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with employees at all levels and external personnel.
About this role
Senior Controls Specialist for VC Summer Power Station Projects team. Develops, implements, and coordinates planning, estimating, and cost controls for nuclear power station construction projects. Serves as lead controls discipline representative on major projects. Requires 5+ years of relevant controls experience in power generation or nuclear construction.
Responsibilities
- Develop and review project estimates, schedules, and O&M/capital budgets for power station construction projects
- Monitor actual project cost and work status data to ensure projects proceed on schedule and within budget; analyze monthly cost reports
- Act as lead controls discipline representative to major projects; interface and coordinate with corporate and station groups
- Implement, evaluate, and monitor controls systems and coordinate use of controls equipment and facilities
- Establish and implement cost and planning control policy and procedures for power station construction projects
- Provide status reports to management and conduct meetings with contractors on cost control matters
- Assist in training lower-level controls personnel
Location, schedule, and travel
VC Summer Power Station (South Carolina). Office-based 76–100%, with up to 25% travel. May work in cold/loud conditions, around machinery, outdoors, and radiation areas (up to 25% each).
