About this role

The Nuclear Organizational Effectiveness Consultant supports Dominion Energy's Director of Nuclear Organizational Effectiveness & Development to implement fleet-wide organizational effectiveness strategy at VC Summer Power Station. You'll identify improvement opportunities, build tools and resources, conduct operational analysis, and provide expert consultation to drive continuous improvement and industry excellence across the nuclear fleet.

Responsibilities

  • Support oversight and expert consultation to drive continuous improvement and industry excellence at VC Summer and across the fleet
  • Monitor and evaluate leaders, site and fleet performance through observations, team interactions, and indicators from corporate/site leadership, assessments, MSRC, INPO, NRC and external sources
  • Identify gaps in leadership and teamwork effectiveness and provide feedback, insights, and recommendations to bridge those gaps
  • Provide periodic updates to Senior Leadership Team (SLT) including organizational results themes, trends, strengths, and challenges
  • Provide input to fleet leadership development training, including experiential learning opportunities and insights from observations, leadership assessments and surveys
  • Partner with station to implement Leadership Development Continuing Training
  • Serve as strategic resource to VC Summer's Site Vice President and Plant Manager, providing coaching to SLT on Leadership and Team Effectiveness attributes
  • Guide development of assigned station's organizational results strategy and provide oversight of site excellence plans
  • Advise leaders on strategies to ensure healthy, productive teams
  • Collaborate with Human Resources and VP/PM on leadership development and team building opportunities
  • Collaborate with other site organizational results professionals to ensure consistency and effectiveness of SLT and mid-level manager teams
  • Participate in fleet and industry activities to learn and apply best practices in organizational effectiveness and fleet learning

Qualifications

  • Seven (7) or more years of directly related experience in organizational effectiveness, including knowledge of leadership development theory and processes, team effectiveness models, and experience with tools to assess and improve team dynamics
  • Demonstrated knowledge of organizational effectiveness, leadership, and teamwork attributes and best practices
  • Demonstrated ability to critically analyze, interpret and apply complex information to improve performance
  • Demonstrated ability to direct, manage, plan, and organize work in a cost-effective manner
  • Demonstrated success in key leadership competencies
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize/manage workflow in an environment where all work is critiqued
  • Ability to collaborate with stakeholders to drive organizational improvements and influence as necessary to gain fleet consistency
  • Ability to establish and nurture trust and rapport with all levels in the organization
  • Experience working with key leaders to resolve issues
  • Proven effectiveness in building strong relationships with leaders and individual contributors at all levels
  • Ability to support leaders in aligning their people with right workflows, role design and organizational structure to achieve maximum efficiency and performance
  • Effective verbal and written communications skills, including interpersonal, facilitation, and presentation capabilities
  • Leadership courage to engage and influence peers and senior leaders, observe, coach, and provide critical feedback
  • Personal commitment to overall success of the SLT
  • Capability to influence without positional authority
  • Driven to improve organizational performance and excellence
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience in Organizational Leadership, Business Administration, Engineering, or Science

Desired

  • Nuclear power industry experience in multiple functional areas such as Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, and/or Human Resources
  • At least four (4) years' experience in a supervisory or management position
  • INPO experience
