Senior Construction Specialist
About this role
Senior Construction Specialist overseeing safe and efficient construction of inside plant facilities for nuclear and power infrastructure. Manages multiple complex projects, contractor resources, and internal teams while ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery and NRC regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities
- —Oversee daily quality control, project logistics, and procedural adherence for complex and multiple construction projects
- —Develop project scopes, manage bids, procurement, invoicing, and contract administration
- —Support Pre-Construction planning including constructability review, sequencing, permitting, design, and execution strategy
- —Manage contracts for multiple complex projects including change orders, invoices, forecasts, and billing processes
- —Provide leadership, guidance, and development to construction team members
- —Drive sustainable safety culture through onsite oversight and job safety observations
- —Review and manage technical documentation, field test reports, and third-party submittals (conduit proofing, concrete, electrical testing)
- —Review construction design documents, OEM documentation, and manage contractor field RFIs
- —Coordinate outages, start-up, commissioning, and operations for equipment cutover to service
- —Serve as clearance tag holder managing complex clearances across multiple work groups
- —Supervise MAST/BU engineering personnel and function as construction field supervisor
Qualifications
- —Bachelor's degree with 6 years of relevant construction or engineering work experience
- —Experience in management of construction and testing contractors
- —Demonstrated knowledge of collective bargaining agreements
- —Proven leadership and high-level management skills in coaching and development
- —Project management knowledge
- —Demonstrated knowledge of environmental and regulatory compliance
- —Leadership experience in safety oversight with ability to perform job site observations and coach behaviors
Desired
- —Experience with GIS, MEGA, and/or SAP systems
Location
Onsite; outdoor fieldwork in northeast climate; travel required across PSE&G service territory; off-duty emergency coverage responsibilities
