Senior Construction Specialist
About this role
Lead construction oversight for nuclear and fossil generation facilities within PSEG's Power & Delivery portfolios across the northeast region. Manage contractor and internal teams on complex, multi-project initiatives while controlling scope, budget, schedule, and quality. Responsibilities include clearance tag holder duties, outage coordination, and commissioning support for equipment placement in service.
Responsibilities
- —Oversee daily quality control, project logistics, and field change directives across multiple construction projects
- —Manage scope development, bid management, procurement, contract administration, and project forecasting
- —Support pre-construction planning including constructability review, sequencing, permitting, and execution strategy
- —Review and manage technical documents, field test reports, third-party submittals (conduit proofing, concrete, soil, electrical testing)
- —Coordinate outages, start-up, commissioning, and electrical cut-overs for equipment placement in service
- —Function as clearance tag holder and manage complex clearances across work groups
- —Lead field safety oversight, job observations, and sustainable safety culture development
- —Coach and develop Inside Plant Construction team members
Qualifications
- —Bachelor's degree with 6+ years of construction experience
- —Experience managing construction and testing contractors
- —Knowledge of collective bargaining agreements
- —Proven leadership and high-level management skills in coaching and team development
- —Project management and environmental/regulatory compliance knowledge
- —Demonstrated safety leadership with effective job site observation capability
- —Strong written and verbal communication skills
- —Proficiency with computer systems and Microsoft Office
Desired
- —Experience with GIS, MEGA, or SAP systems
Location
Onsite outdoor construction fieldwork across northeast region; travel required throughout entire PSE&G service territory; off-duty emergency support coverage required
