Senior Civil Struct & Architect Engineer
About this role
Senior Civil, Structural & Architectural Engineer at Westinghouse's Springfields Fuel Site, leading CS&A engineering on large complex nuclear fuel facility projects. Role includes technical discipline leadership, multi-disciplinary team management, design quality assurance, regulatory compliance, and mentorship of junior engineers across nuclear energy infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- —Serve as single point of accountability for Civil, Structural & Architectural (CS&A) engineering discipline
- —Lead multi-disciplinary engineering teams on project delivery depending on scope
- —Develop and approve key CS&A design deliverables, calculations, and technical documentation
- —Ensure design quality and compliance with applicable nuclear standards, regulations, and codes
- —Oversee work of consultants and subcontractors; manage change control and technical issues
- —Produce and review safety-related documentation and quality plans
- —Support seismic, blast, and impact load design analysis
- —Conduct design reviews, HAZOPs, and present designs to clients and stakeholders
- —Mentor junior engineers and designers
- —Support bid activities with estimates, scope development, and program logic
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or higher in civil, structural, or architectural engineering. Chartered Member of the ICE. Minimum 8 years industry experience with at least 3 years at Senior Engineer level. Strong expertise in CS&A design principles, applicable standards/regulations/codes, seismic/blast/impact load design, and construction management. Experience producing Technical Files for regulated facilities.
