About this role

Perform design basis safety analysis for nuclear reactors, focusing on Loss of Coolant Accident (LOCA) analysis. Develop models, assess correlations for two-phase flow and heat transfer, and serve as the technical point of contact for plant-specific licensing inquiries and regulatory reporting under 10 CFR 50.46.

Responsibilities

  • Perform design basis safety analysis for nuclear reactors, particularly for Loss of Coolant Accidents (LOCA)
  • Develop and assess models and correlations for prediction of two-phase flow and heat transfer phenomena
  • Use statistical techniques for performing realistic nuclear reactor safety analysis and develop analysis methodologies for design basis accidents
  • Maintain cognizance of plant-specific licensing basis and Analysis of Record; manage 10 CFR 50.46 reporting
  • Act as point of contact for plant-specific LOCA-related inquiries from internal and external customers
  • Evaluate impacts of plant modifications and operating changes on design analysis

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Nuclear Engineering

Location

Hybrid: 2 days/week on-site at Westinghouse Global Headquarters in Cranberry Township, PA (Greater Pittsburgh Area)
