About this role
Design and analyze reactor vessel internal components within the primary pressure boundary for Westinghouse nuclear power plants (operating fleet, AP1000, AP300). Lead technical teams through complex repair, modification, and qualification projects using FEA and nuclear industry codes.
Responsibilities
- Perform design and analyses for repair, modification, and qualification of primary pressure boundary components using ANSYS FEA and hand calculations
- Lead technical teams to project completion while managing safety, quality, schedule, and budget requirements
- Collaborate with component, system, and manufacturing teams on subsystem integration and design issues
- Apply ASME Section III/XI, NRC, DOE, and industry regulatory codes and standards to design activities
- Support plant refueling outages (on-site and remotely) with 12-hour shifts and overnight work as needed
- Provide technical guidance and coordinate with national laboratories, sub-contractors, suppliers, fabricators, and customers
