Required qualifications

- 2–5 years of mechanical engineering experience (aeronautics, nuclear, special machines)
- Completion of Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Exam
- Technical writing skills
- 1+ years of Finite Element Analysis (FEA) experience
About this role
Reactor Vessel Internals Engineer 2 role at Westinghouse's Cranberry, PA facility, supporting design and analysis of reactor vessel internals components. You will perform structural and thermal-mechanical calculations, develop design and qualification documentation, and collaborate with technical leads and customers on engineering projects for nuclear power plants.
Responsibilities
- Perform analytical calculations and evaluations using engineering analysis tools and methods (FEA, thermal, stress analysis)
- Develop technical documentation for calculations, analyses, and design basis
- Create design documentation for safety and non-safety hardware, including manufacturing drawings, functional specifications, design specifications, and qualification reports
- Coordinate activities with technical leads, project managers, and customers on assigned work scope
- Travel occasionally to customer and manufacturing vendor sites for on-site support, technical presentations, and issue resolution
Preferred qualifications
- Experience with nonlinear FEA analysis
Location, schedule, and travel
Cranberry, PA; hybrid (2–3 days per week onsite); occasional travel to customer and vendor sites
