Reactor Core Thermal Hydraulic Sr. Engineer
About this role
Senior engineer role performing reactor core thermal hydraulic analysis for Westinghouse nuclear customers. You will conduct safety-critical design analyses addressing heat removal and coolant flow under normal and accident conditions, determine design bases and thermal margins, and support both US and international nuclear projects following approved NRC methodologies.
Responsibilities
- —Perform reactor core thermal hydraulic design analyses for US and international customers following approved methodologies and NRC procedures
- —Determine design bases and limits meeting safety and regulatory criteria for plant, reactor core, and fuel design
- —Measure thermal margins and evaluate risks to plant safety and fuel performance
- —Develop technical skills through training and independent assignments; verify analyses performed by others
- —Support emergent issues and interface with customers and other Westinghouse engineering teams
- —Participate on project teams, communicate work status, and plan/schedule work to meet schedule and budget requirements
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Nuclear Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline; 4+ years of engineering experience; fundamental engineering principles knowledge; computer simulation and programming skills; Linux experience
