Quality Inspector A
About this role
Quality Inspector A at Westinghouse's Newington, NH manufacturing facility. Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections of nuclear components including castings, welds, and mechanical parts using visual, mechanical, and non-destructive testing methods. Ensure compliance with engineering specifications, applicable codes (ASME, NRC), and support regulatory audits.
Responsibilities
- —Perform incoming inspections of raw materials, components, and castings using visual and mechanical inspection methods
- —Conduct in-process inspections per engineering specifications during production; investigate, validate, or reject parts in compliance with specifications
- —Perform non-destructive testing including ultrasonic (UT), dye penetrant (liquid penetrant), radiographic (RT), visual, and magnetic particle methods
- —Execute mechanical, visual, and dimensional inspections of parts; scrap inspected parts per engineering instructions
- —Maintain and verify calibrated measurement equipment; document inspection results in required reports and logs
- —Act as quality representative during internal, customer, and regulatory audits; maintain safe work environment per standards and procedures
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent plus two years of college/technical school; 2+ years of inspection experience. Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation. Must attain and maintain 9 levels of qualification including Mechanical Inspection, Weld Surveillance, Liquid Penetrant II, and Magnetic Particle II. Prior experience with engineering drawings including welding symbols and shop drawings.
Desired
UT (Ultrasonic Testing) or RT (Radiographic Testing) specialty; NDE (Non-Destructive Examination) Certification; experience with Farrow measuring equipment.
Location
100% onsite, Newington, NH. $39.00–$48.00/hour based on experience and qualifications.
