Quality Engineer - Mechanical Components
About this role
Quality Engineer for mechanical components at Westinghouse's Västerås facility, responsible for ensuring compliance with nuclear industry standards. Monitor manufacturing quality, review technical documentation, issue Certificates of Conformity, and support supplier audits for nuclear fuel assemblies and equipment.
Responsibilities
- —Perform quality inspections and observations on manufacturing processes, mechanical components, and welded assemblies
- —Review control plans, final control documentation, and non-conformance reports, implementing corrective actions as needed
- —Review technical documentation and quality requirements for component and service orders
- —Issue Certificate of Conformity (CoC) and audit certificates for mechanical components and installations
- —Participate in audits of suppliers and internal business processes
- —Support continuous improvement of quality control processes
- —Promote quality awareness and provide guidance to project teams
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, materials engineering, quality management, or similar. Minimum 5 years of experience in quality management, assurance, and control in manufacturing. Full professional proficiency in Swedish and English (spoken and written).
Desired
Experience in nuclear industry. Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 3834-2, PAKT, KBM, TBM, YVL, KTA 1401, ASME III standards. Certificate in Non-destructive Testing (NDT) and welding management (IWS/IWT/IWE). Knowledge of CE marking, pressurized equipment, and lifting equipment regulations.
Location
Västerås, Sweden. Onsite with remote flexibility 1–2 days per week. Approximately 40 days per year travel to supplier and customer sites.
