About this role
Westinghouse seeks a QHSE-RP Engineer to support nuclear field operations across EDF sites in France. You will ensure first-time quality, enforce HSE standards, and guarantee radiation protection compliance during maintenance and modification projects. As an independent on-site authority, you have the mandate to stop work if unsafe conditions are identified.
Responsibilities
- —Verify project documentation (LDA, DSI, organizational charts) and personnel qualifications for accuracy and completeness
- —Perform verifications and hold points on site per project inspection plans; review RFI and SRCI packages; track non-conformities to closure
- —Support root-cause analysis, corrective actions, and final quality reviews; manage safety events (reporting, evidence gathering, CAP initiation)
- —Conduct field safety supervision, coach work crews, and lead HSE toolbox talks; review and update risk assessments (PPSPS) and HSE controls
- —Act as RP representative: prepare dosimetric forecasts (EDP, RTR, PREVAIR), verify radiological controls and contamination levels, track individual/collective doses
- —Participate in ALARA committees, manage dosimeter issuance/retrieval/emergency processing, and ensure ALARA principles are applied
- —Liaise with EDF on PDP, PGCSPS, and HSE documentation; deliver weekly QHSE-RP status reports and end-of-project lessons learned
Qualifications
Master's degree in engineering or equivalent experience in Quality, HSE, or Radiation Protection. Strong knowledge of nuclear site regulations, EDF requirements (NTAQ 85/114), and QHSE-RP standards. Experience in inspection, maintenance, or fabrication in regulated environments. Strong field presence, autonomy, and decision-making capabilities. Fluency in English and French.
Desired
Radiation Protection certifications (PCR level 2 / RP2-RP1). SCN1/SCN2, CSQ, HN3, M0-H0B0 SST, fire extinguisher handling, and PPE training certifications. RCC-M knowledge.
Location
France – Nuclear Power Plant sites and Westinghouse facilities. Project-based, full-time role with frequent travel and on-site field presence required.
