Required qualifications
- Successfully completed engineering degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, civil engineering, or computer science
- Professional experience in nuclear technology or equivalent experience with focus on plant security and SEWD-IT
- In-depth knowledge of safety and security technology products for nuclear facilities
- Basic knowledge and initial experience in project management
- Independent and efficient working style
- Very good written and spoken English
About this role
Project Engineer at Westinghouse Electric Company in Mannheim, developing technical security and safety concepts for nuclear facilities. You will manage plant safety projects from conception through customer approval and commissioning, advising customers through NRC licensing processes.
Responsibilities
- Create backup analyses and higher-level security concepts for nuclear facilities
- Prepare technical security concepts covering site/building security, fire protection, intrusion alarm, hazard alarm, access control, video surveillance, telecommunications and intercom systems
- Develop IT security concepts (SEWD-IT) for protected nuclear facilities
- Prepare and review application documents for supervisory and NRC approval procedures
- Handle, implement and manage plant safety projects within quality, deadline and cost parameters
- Prepare quotations and tender documents for plant security components and systems
- Advise and support customers through nuclear regulatory and licensing processes
- Present concepts and results to customers, suppliers, experts and authorities
- Accompany factory inspections, commissioning and acceptance activities
Preferred qualifications
- Experience with MS Project
- Programming experience (e.g. S7)
Location, schedule, and travel
Mannheim, Germany; hybrid arrangement with high willingness to travel required
