Project Engineer
About this role
Support Westinghouse's AP1000 and AP300 advanced reactor projects as a Project Engineer. Manage engineering scope, schedules, and cross-functional collaboration across NSSS, piping, electrical, and civil/structural disciplines while developing toward senior technical leadership roles. Based at Cranberry Township, PA or Rock Hill, SC with hybrid work arrangement.
Responsibilities
- —Drive completion of engineering scope within assigned departments to support plant development
- —Support front-end engineering design, feasibility studies, and early works projects
- —Manage schedules, costs, and resource loading in collaboration with Resource Managers
- —Identify and mitigate technical risks; develop recovery plans for schedule and scope challenges
- —Troubleshoot technical issues and serve as lead point of contact for Functional Area Leads and Project Coordinators
- —Apply systems engineering principles to integrate multidisciplinary input across NSSS, turbine island, and plant layout
- —Facilitate cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder engagement in project review meetings
- —Monitor KPIs for schedule, cost, and quality performance; leverage digital tools for configuration control
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Nuclear, Chemical, or related discipline)
Desired
Previous experience on AP1000 or AP300 projects; Design & Analysis experience with NSSS components, piping, electrical, or civil/structural systems; Systems Engineering knowledge of nuclear systems and plant layout integration; Regulatory & Licensing experience with NRC and international regulatory frameworks; Integration & Coordination experience with configuration control and digital design tools
Location
Hybrid (2 days per week on-site) at Cranberry Township, PA or Rock Hill, SC; domestic and international travel up to 10% during peak project periods
