About this role
Lead a 15-person chemistry team in Westinghouse's Analytical Laboratory in Västerås, Sweden, supporting nuclear fuel and reactor operations. Drive operational excellence across safety, quality, delivery, and cost while developing team capability and collaborating with unit management.
Responsibilities
- —Lead, allocate, and develop daily operational work within the analytical laboratory unit
- —Ensure a safe work environment and on-time delivery of analytical results in collaboration with the Unit Manager
- —Coach and develop a team of 15 chemists to achieve results in safety, quality, delivery, cost, staffing, and employee development
- —Communicate for the team in internal forums and with external partners
- —Promote team development and ongoing improvement projects
- —Handle administrative responsibilities as part of the unit management team
Qualifications
- —3+ years of experience in an operational management role with personnel responsibility within a laboratory environment, or 3+ years in another leadership position
- —Proficiency in Swedish and English, both spoken and written
- —Bachelor's degree in chemistry or a technical field

- —Experience from a Lean-certified organization
- —Experience from an accredited organization
- —Experience with automation and digital solutions
- —Experience in change management
