Required qualifications
High School/GED degree and 4 years related work experience in nuclear plant work management or outage planning.
About this role
Senior Work Management Specialist supporting nuclear outage operations at Duke Energy. Develop integrated schedules across all station groups (Operations, Maintenance, Chemistry), coordinate multi-discipline work activities, track progress, and drive continuous improvement while managing radiological and nuclear risk. This role requires minimal supervision and is critical to outage planning and execution.
Responsibilities
- Develop schedules and reports integrating work for all station groups (Operations, Maintenance, Chemistry, etc.), resolving conflicts to minimize personnel, nuclear, and radiological risk
- Coordinate and communicate during work preparation and execution phases to ensure activities are accomplished as scheduled
- Lead multi-discipline special project teams and meetings related to the Work Management Process
- Monitor and track work planning/scheduling progress during preparation and execution phases to identify and resolve problems immediately
- Prioritize emergent work to minimize impact on Work Management and Risk Management processes
- Capture lessons learned in the corrective action program to ensure continuous improvement
Preferred qualifications
Associates or technical degree; 8+ years related work experience; basic knowledge of power plant operation; working knowledge of company computer systems and Work Management software; basic scheduling tool knowledge; demonstrated effective time management and problem-solving skills; ability to work independently with minimal direction; strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with all station groups; basic ability to lead effective meetings; strong written and oral communication skills; good knowledge of nuclear procedures and processes.
Location, schedule, and travel
Hybrid position (2 days on-site, office-based otherwise) at Duke Energy nuclear facility. Will spend time in plant conducting work management activities. Outage support (planned or forced) required. No travel required.
