Product Technician/Bachelor
About this role
Westinghouse is seeking a Product Technician to join the bolt replacement and special products team in Mannheim. You will develop and design specialized remotely-operated equipment for nuclear power plant component repair, driving innovative tools from concept through field deployment and supporting FOAK (First-Of-A-Kind) projects across international teams.
Responsibilities
- —Develop and design concepts for equipment and processes used in nuclear power plant component repair
- —Work closely with design engineers to convert concepts into reality
- —Support development, testing, and qualification of new equipment, including customer reviews and on-site activities
- —Contribute to FOAK projects and advance products from prototype to maturity
- —Prepare comprehensive project documentation including Work Instructions, Development Programs, Test Reports, and Bills of Materials
- —Provide ongoing support for existing products: troubleshooting, spare parts coordination, and technician training
- —Collaborate across departments, sites, and international teams
Qualifications
- —Minimum 3 years of experience in development, design, and testing of specialized electromechanical equipment
- —German language: mother tongue or C2-level (speaking and writing)
- —English language: minimum B1 level (B2 preferred) in speaking and writing
- —Strong problem-solving mindset
- —Team-oriented with open and clear communication
Desired
- —French language (speaking and writing)
- —Knowledge of machining/chip-removal processes
- —Knowledge of hydraulics
- —Knowledge of materials and welding
Location
Mannheim, Germany; hybrid work arrangement
