Required qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering
  • 4+ years of progressive experience in engineering/manufacturing
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes including precision machining, welding, forming, mechanical assembly, NDE and inspection, and testing
  • Experience performing process capability analysis (Cpk) and qualification
  • Working knowledge of Manufacturing and Quality Plans, PFMEAs
  • Experience leading multiple, concurrent cross-functional projects
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Project, and PowerPoint
  • Experience authoring technical documents or operating procedures
  • Ability to read drawings and specifications made to ASME standards
  • Fluent in English

About this role

Principal Supplier Performance Engineer at Westinghouse Nuclear. Oversee supplier relationships and manufacturing quality across Westinghouse's nuclear supply chain. Manage on-site and remote supplier audits, develop oversight plans, monitor performance metrics (on-time delivery, quality), and drive corrective actions and continuous improvement in manufacturing processes and quality management systems.

Responsibilities

  • Perform on-site and remote supplier oversight to ensure Westinghouse technical and quality requirements are achieved
  • Develop and implement Supplier Oversight Plans to drive on-time completion of critical document submittals, manufacturing activities, surveillance points, inspections, and tests
  • Coordinate activities across Westinghouse functions including Supply Chain, Design Engineering, and Supplier Quality Oversight
  • Actively identify and escalate significant supplier issues, risks, and quality events; drive prompt resolution through coordinated activities and stakeholder engagement
  • Monitor key supplier performance metrics (On-Time Delivery, Quality issues, Deviation Notices) and implement causal analysis and corrective action plans
  • Evaluate procurement risk and develop security of supply risk mitigation plans
  • Own internal and external corrective action requests, perform cause analyses, and verify completion of preventative and corrective actions
  • Perform technical evaluations of new and existing suppliers to assess manufacturing capability, capacity, process controls, and regulatory compliance
  • Identify capability gaps and establish supplier development and qualification plans
  • Lead supplier development initiatives for new products, improvement efforts, and cost reduction
  • Review and disposition supplier process documents, process capability analyses, and measurement system analyses
  • Collaborate with Design Engineering to ensure clarity of engineering drawing requirements and effective supplier communication
  • Support implementation of Value Analysis/Value Engineering, Design for Assembly, and Design for Manufacturing principles
