Principal Supplier Value Engineer
About this role
Develop should-cost estimates for complex nuclear structures and equipment (AP1000, AP300, eVinci) and create custom cost prediction algorithms to support supplier negotiations and drive cost reductions across materials, labor, and fabrication.
Responsibilities
- —Gather, clean, and consolidate cost data from multiple sources
- —Use statistical and mathematical modeling and programming skills to analyze large volumes of data
- —Develop algorithm libraries to predict costs for materials, manufacturing operations, test operations, quality management, and other processes
- —Build should-cost estimates by leading product teams and suppliers to identify cost-driving parameters
- —Support category management and supplier negotiation teams in Long-term Agreement (LTA) playbook negotiations
- —Collaborate with external partners to identify component and process cost drivers and cost reduction opportunities
- —Research industry trends, best practices, applicable cost indices, and competitive offerings to maintain should-costing knowledge
- —Develop productive working relationships with Engineering, Operations, Quality, and Procurement teams
- —Identify, secure, and manage third-party suppliers for the Should Costing Program
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in engineering; 10+ years of experience in should-cost estimating, manufacturing process planning, mathematics, and statistics.
Desired
Master's degree in engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations Research, or Mathematics and Statistics; SAVE International certification.
