Principal Supplier Quality Engineer - Remote

Bachelor's degree in mechanical or industrial engineering

5+ years experience as manufacturing inspector or surveillance engineer in nuclear industry

Strong knowledge of NDE methods (UT, RT) and welding activities

Knowledge of nuclear construction codes and regulations (RCC-M, ASME, ESPN)

Knowledge of manufacturing processes for critical nuclear equipment

Lead supplier quality surveillance for Westinghouse's nuclear manufacturing operations. Witness and assess critical manufacturing activities (welding, NDE, dimensional control, destructive testing) at supplier facilities, identify deviations from contractual and nuclear safety standards, and issue quality releases for nuclear equipment shipments.

Witness manufacturing activities including welding, non-destructive examination (UT, RT), dimensional control, and destructive testing per surveillance plans

Identify and document deviations to contractual requirements using dedicated templates

Issue surveillance reports after each activity and review End of Manufacturing Reports

Issue quality releases (QR) prior to critical nuclear equipment shipment

Perform unscheduled oversight visits based on lessons learned and identified supplier weaknesses

Support supply chain and project teams with supplier facility event documentation

Provide backup support to SQO team during peak periods or staff absences

NDE or welding certification (NF EN ISO 9712, CWI, or equivalent)

100% remote with 50–75% travel requirement to supplier manufacturing facilities
