Principal Supplier Quality Engineer
About this role
Principal Supplier Quality Engineer for Westinghouse AP1000 reactor manufacturing. Oversee supplier compliance, quality, and performance across critical fabrication of structural and mechanical components at supplier facilities.
Responsibilities
- —Lead completion of Supplier Oversight Plans including document submittals, manufacturing activities, surveillance (witness and hold) points, inspections, and functional tests
- —Ensure vendor compliance with critical requirements and coordinate activities across Supply Chain, Design Engineering, and Supplier Quality Oversight functions
- —Identify and escalate supplier issues, risks, and quality events; drive prompt resolution through causal analysis and corrective action implementation
- —Monitor supplier performance metrics (On-Time Delivery, Quality issues, Deviation Notices); identify trends and implement Supplier Improvement Plans
- —Manage internal and external corrective action requests with cause analysis and verification of preventative/corrective actions
Qualifications
- —10+ years in engineering, manufacturing, or fabrication
- —Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Welding, or Manufacturing Engineering
- —Experience with ASME Section VIII pressure vessels and heat exchangers
- —Knowledge of manufacturing processes: machining (turning, milling), welding, forming, mechanical assembly, NDE, inspection, and testing
- —Working knowledge of Manufacturing and Quality Plans; ability to read ASME-standard drawings and specifications
Desired
- —Power Generation or Nuclear Industry experience
- —Oil & Gas, Pipelines, Refineries, Offshore Oil Production, Shipbuilding, or Manufacturing Plant background
Location
Hybrid with remote option within US; 20% travel required; frequent onsite visits to Etna and Cranberry Township, PA
