Principal Supplier Performance Engineer
About this role
Principal Supplier Performance Engineer supporting Westinghouse nuclear new plant projects (APX Supply Chain). Optimize supplier oversight processes, ensure vendor compliance with nuclear quality and technical requirements, and drive continuous improvement across critical supply chain activities including document submittals, manufacturing surveillance, inspections, and tests.
Responsibilities
- —Develop and implement Supplier Oversight Plans to guide critical document submittals, manufacturing activities, surveillance points, inspections, and tests across APX Supply Chain WBSs
- —Identify, escalate, and coordinate resolution of supplier issues, risks, and quality events; issue communications and ensure corrective action implementation
- —Monitor supplier performance metrics (On-Time Delivery, Quality issues, Deviation Notices); implement causal analysis and Supplier Improvement Plans
- —Perform technical evaluations of suppliers to assess manufacturing capability, capacity, process controls, and regulatory compliance; identify capability gaps and establish development plans
- —Oversee internal and external corrective action requests, performing cause analyses and verifying preventative and corrective action completion
- —Evaluate procurement risk and develop security of supply risk mitigation plans
- —Review and disposition supplier process documents, process capability analyses, measurement system analyses, and design for manufacturability inputs
- —Support supplier improvement projects and cost reduction efforts through supplier development activities
- —Assist SPE team with Witness and Hold point module
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in engineering; 4+ years of progressive experience in engineering/manufacturing; knowledge of manufacturing processes (machining, welding, forming, mechanical assembly, NDE, inspection, testing); experience performing process capability analysis (Cpk) and qualification; working knowledge of Manufacturing and Quality Plans and PFMEAs; experience leading multiple concurrent projects; experience authoring technical documents or operating procedures; ability to read drawings and specifications made to ASME standards.

Experience with nuclear products and standards.
