About this role
Principal Safety Analysis Engineer providing thermal-hydraulic engineering analysis and technical leadership for Core Design & Safety Analysis at Comanche Peak Nuclear Power Plant (PWR, Units 1 & 2). Role includes safety analysis methodology development, 10 CFR 50.59 evaluations, transient and setpoint analysis, and secondary support for other Westinghouse nuclear facilities.
Responsibilities
- Perform complex thermal-hydraulic engineering analysis for PWR NSSS design and safety systems
- Provide technical leadership and project management in development and application of safety analysis methods
- Interface with CPNPP engineering and Westinghouse Resident Site Operations Manager to develop work scopes and obtain engineering authorizations
- Obtain and maintain CPNPP qualifications for Safety Analysis Engineer, Engineering Orientation, and 10 CFR 50.59 Screen and Evaluation
- Initiate, evaluate, and disposition Condition Reports
- Provide technical input and written documents supporting design, development, training, and delivery of technical products across multifunctional groups
- Define, manage, and drive projects to successful completion
- Support site engineering requests including self-assessments, equipment reliability, outage emergent issues, and calculation reviews
- Process vendor documents (Westinghouse Letters, NSALs, INs) per site requirements
- Apply engineering analysis (transient analysis, setpoints analysis, containment analysis) to other plants under Westinghouse QA program
Location, schedule, and travel
Comanche Peak Nuclear Power Plant, Glen Rose, Texas. Less than 10% travel to domestic and international sites. Onsite role; no relocation assistance provided.
