Principal Project Manager
About this role
Principal Project Manager at Westinghouse overseeing medium-complexity nuclear projects (<$15M) or portions of large projects within the Americas Engineered Solutions team. Manage all aspects of NSSS component projects, plant modifications, and uprating work including scope, schedule, cost, risk, and teams of 5–20 members.
Responsibilities
- —Complete project planning including authoring project plans and developing scope, schedule, and cost baselines
- —Assume overall responsibility for contract profitability and manage project expenditure forecasts using Earned Value Management
- —Acquire and supervise team members (5–20) and manage all project aspects: scope, schedule, cost, risk, procurement, quality, resources, communications, and stakeholders
- —Interpret and transmit project/contract requirements and changes to functional groups following integrated change management process
- —Review expenditures for compliance with baselines and scope; develop project databases and documentation systems
- —Close projects by archiving work in financial, scheduling, document management, and resource management systems
- —Perform final quality assessment and reporting; identify improvement opportunities and lessons learned
- —Serve as single point of contact to customers, architect-engineers, constructors, and internal business areas
- —May serve as Technical Inputs Lead for medium-complexity projects or deputy project manager for highly complex projects
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Engineering, Business, Construction Management, or related technical discipline; 5+ years of Project Management experience; advanced knowledge of Project Management Institute's Project Management Body of Knowledge; broad technical knowledge of nuclear power plants.
Desired
Familiarity with utility business practices including utility operations, maintenance, and engineering practices; knowledge of procurement processes and material management; knowledge of local business practices and contracting for international projects.
Location
Cranberry Township, PA; hybrid arrangement with expectation of 2–3 days per week onsite.
