Principal Project Manager
About this role
Principal Project Manager at Westinghouse leading moderate to high complexity nuclear energy projects or portfolios. Manage medium-sized teams (10–30 members), oversee all project management processes, and guide customer negotiations for nuclear power plant support, modifications, and new reactor solutions.
Responsibilities
- —Lead all project management processes for moderate to high complexity projects or portfolios of lower complexity projects
- —Manage medium-sized teams averaging 10–30 team members
- —Author project management plans and develop scope, schedule, and cost baselines per Westinghouse Project Management Requirements (WPMR)
- —Oversee development of cost estimates and offers for operating plants support and modifications
- —Manage and integrate all aspects of projects including scope, schedule, cost, risk, procurement, quality, resources, communications, and partners
- —Develop risk and change registers; interpret and transmit project/contract requirements following integrated change management process
- —Support proposal processes for upcoming nuclear energy opportunities
- —Close projects by archiving work in financial, scheduling, document management, and resource management systems
- —Identify opportunities for improvement and lessons learned for future work
Qualifications
- —Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, Business, or related technical discipline
- —8+ years of experience as project manager in a technical industry such as engineering, manufacturing, nuclear, or construction
- —Minimum 7 years leading and directing low to moderate complexity projects to successful completion, OR 3 years of project management plus 2 years in a technical leadership role
Location
Hybrid, 2 days per week on-site at Cranberry Township, PA (Westinghouse global headquarters)
