Principal Project Manager
About this role
Principal Project Manager within Westinghouse's nuclear energy division, leading medium-complexity projects or portions of large-scale nuclear initiatives. Manage teams of 10–30 members across all project lifecycle phases (planning, execution, monitoring, closure), with accountability for contract profitability and regulatory compliance. Remote, US-based role reporting to Director of Operations.
Responsibilities
- —Author comprehensive project plans and establish scope, schedule, and cost baselines aligned with nuclear industry standards • Assume full contract and project profitability responsibility, including budget forecasting and Earned Value Management (EVM) analysis • Acquire, allocate, and manage project team members (10–30 personnel) based on evolving project requirements • Direct all project management functions: scope, schedule, cost, risk, procurement, quality, resources, communications, and stakeholder/partner coordination • Interpret and communicate project and contract requirements and integrated changes to cross-functional departments • Prepare or oversee cost expenditure forecasts, progress evaluations, and variance analysis against approved baselines • Review project spending for compliance with cost baselines and approved scope • Develop or oversee project databases, documentation procedures, and correspondence management systems for efficient project control
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Engineering, Business, Construction Management, or related technical discipline. Minimum 5 years as Project Manager leading medium-to-high complexity projects in the nuclear industry to successful completion; OR 3+ years in technical/engineering roles plus 2+ years as a project manager in nuclear.
Desired
Experience in Nuclear Fuels operations or programs. Experience managing projects in highly regulated industries (nuclear, DOE, NRC oversight).
