Principal Operations Process Engineer
About this role
Lead process engineering delivery across large complex projects or multiple medium-sized initiatives at Westinghouse's Westlakes facility. Drive operational excellence through Lean methodology, strategic planning, and cross-functional program management in nuclear energy manufacturing and operations.
Responsibilities
- —Lead successful delivery of all Process Engineering requirements across single large complex projects or multiple medium-sized projects
- —Ensure technical excellence, compliance with standards, and alignment with project objectives
- —Drive improvements at functional and strategic levels using Lean tools to deliver sustainable business changes
- —Develop strategy to drive operational excellence through X-matrix, balanced scorecards, and KPI management
- —Align projects and change processes to business strategic goals
- —Initiate and drive efficiency improvements using business KPIs
- —Develop policy, procedures, and strategy alignment
- —Develop strategic 3–5 year tactical plans ensuring alignment to business objectives
- —Manage short-term tactical plans into operational delivery schedules with achievable KDM, KPM, and KPI targets
- —Forecast business needs and coordinate work scheduling
- —Manage Master Production Schedules including recovery plans and reporting
- —Lead collaborative program-wide stakeholder engagement and management
Qualifications
- —Minimum 10+ years' industry experience
- —Minimum 3 years at Senior Engineer level
- —Proven knowledge of process design theories, principles, practices, and techniques
- —Strong knowledge in production of Technical Files for new products, plant, and equipment
- —Ability to undertake technical tasks and disclose technical limitations
- —Willingness to mentor junior engineers
- —Work effectively with all levels of management and support staff
- —Problem-solving ability with 'can do' approach
- —Team effectiveness
- —Commitment to nuclear professionalism, Health, Safety and Environment Standards
Desired
5+ years' experience in nuclear industry or other highly regulated sectors
