About this role
Principal Mechanical Engineer supporting Westinghouse's Parts Business at the New Stanton facility. Design, develop, and support mechanical components and spare parts for operating nuclear plants. Responsibilities include ASME code compliance (Section III/VIII), technical package preparation, equipment qualification, commercial dedication, and Material Master Data management in SAP.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and review technical packages including drawings, specifications, and procurement requirements for mechanical products
- Perform ASME Section III and/or Section VIII engineering activities including preparing ASME Design Specifications and Design Reports, and reviewing supplier submittals
- Develop and maintain Material Master Data and Parts Baselines in SAP
- Determine critical equipment characteristics to support equipment qualification and commercial dedication activities
- Assist in development of equipment qualification test procedures, evaluate test results, and review final reports
- Prepare Commercial Dedication Instructions
- Provide technical input during proposal process and engineering support to manufacturing and shop operations
- Work cross-functionally with quality engineering, supply chain management, and supplier base
Preferred qualifications
- Experience with fabrication of ASME code components
- Knowledge of mechanical components (pumps, valves, mechanical seals, motors)
- SAP knowledge, especially production, requisitioning, and material master data management
- Experience writing technical requirements for equipment procurement and developing specification inputs
- Familiarity with AP1000 design process

New Stanton facility, hybrid role requiring on-site presence 2-3 days per week
