Principal Fluid Systems Engineer
About this role
Principal Fluid Systems Engineer at Westinghouse leading thermal-hydraulic and piping network design for nuclear facilities. Drives innovation in fluid systems engineering across plant design and modifications, reporting to Sr Manager Reactor and Safety Systems at Madrid HQ.
Responsibilities
- —Perform thermal-hydraulic and piping network engineering design for nuclear plants
- —Develop pump, valve, tank, heat exchanger, HVAC, and equipment sizing requirements for plant design or modifications
- —Identify technical issues and propose practical solutions for assigned projects
- —Coordinate with I&C, electrical, civil/structural, licensing, and layout disciplines across diverse projects
- —Participate in customer, vendor, and regulatory meetings, presenting technical material and design decisions
- —Collaborate with construction, I&C, electrical, and operations teams
- —Complete work within defined scope, budget, and schedule constraints
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Nuclear Engineering; 10+ years in fluid systems engineering role; Proficiency with MathCad, MATLAB, VBA, FATHOM, or ARROW; Familiarity with ASME, ANSI, ASHRAE, NFP, or API standards; Fluent in Spanish and English (B2 level minimum); Ability to travel to Westinghouse and customer sites including international travel.
Desired
Master's degree in Nuclear Engineering.
Location
Madrid HQ, hybrid work model with international travel required.
