Principal Engineer
About this role
Lead the Dynamic Simulation Lab within Westinghouse's AI & Innovation team, driving strategy implementation for nuclear simulation workflows and emerging technologies (AI/ML). Collaborate across Westinghouse organizations to optimize simulation capabilities and shape the future of nuclear engineering simulation.
Responsibilities
- —Lead specific projects within the Dynamic Simulation Lab and participate in simulation activities
- —Engage with partners across Westinghouse organizations to understand modeling, simulation needs, and ongoing activities
- —Monitor modeling and simulation activities and developments within the nuclear industry and related sectors
- —Initiate and participate in external collaborations to advance simulation technologies
- —Introduce and integrate new technologies, including AI/ML, to improve simulation workflows, optimize products, and expand capabilities to new areas
Qualifications
- —5+ years of relevant experience in computational fluid dynamics, nuclear engineering, or related simulation disciplines
- —MSc in Engineering, Simulation, Nuclear, Mathematics, or related discipline (or recognized equivalent experience)
- —Experience working with advanced simulations and machine learning or data analysis
- —Experience with simulations in the nuclear industry
- —Ability to understand complex technical challenges and evaluate potential solutions
