Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering
- 10+ years professional experience with minimum 7 years in PRA Model development applied to nuclear plants
- Knowledge of PWR reactor operations
- Knowledge of Internal/External Hazards PRAs, Level 2 PRAs, Human Reliability Analysis (HRA), and Emergency Operating Procedures (EOPs)
- Proficiency with PRA software (CAFTA, RiskSpectrum)
About this role
Principal Engineer leading Probabilistic Risk Assessments (PRA) for complex nuclear power plant systems. Evaluate plant vulnerabilities across seismic, fire, flooding, and other hazards for domestic, international, and new reactor designs. Lead global project teams, mentor early-career engineers, and interface with regulatory bodies and customers.
Responsibilities
- Perform Probabilistic Risk Assessments for complex nuclear power plant systems, evaluating vulnerability to seismic, fire, flooding, and other hazard types
- Support both domestic and international operating plants as well as new reactors in design phase
- Lead global project teams in various technical roles (author, mentor, verifier) while meeting schedule and financial objectives
- Present technical topics and interface with global customers and regulatory bodies
- Support identification of strategic initiatives, develop product offerings, and pursue target product markets
- Mentor early-career engineers and lead knowledge management and retention initiatives
Preferred qualifications
- Advanced degree and/or Professional Engineer license
- Peer Review experience
