Principal Engineer
About this role
Principal Electrical Product Engineer at Westinghouse designing and developing electrical products for nuclear power plants. Responsibilities include equipment qualification, commercial grade dedication, SAP data management, and obsolescence engineering for safety-critical and non-safety electrical systems in NPPs.
Responsibilities
- —Prepare and review drawings, specifications, and purchase requisitions for electrical products
- —Develop and maintain Material Master Data and Parts Baselines in SAP
- —Determine critical equipment characteristics to support equipment qualification and commercial grade dedication
- —Assist in development of equipment qualification test procedures, support testing, evaluate results, and review reports
- —Prepare Commercial Dedication Instructions
- —Develop engineered solutions to address obsolescence issues for electrical products
- —Provide engineering support to customers, suppliers, manufacturing, and shop operations
- —Become Subject Matter Expert (SME) in assigned electrical products and components
- —Engage and problem-solve with customers and vendors on product-related issues
- —Troubleshoot non-conforming material issues
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Electro-Mechanical Engineering or equivalent; 10+ years of engineering experience; general knowledge of electrical distribution systems including low/medium voltage switchgear, circuit breakers, motors, motor-generator sets, and motor control centers; ability to mentor lower-level engineers; proficiency with design software such as AutoCAD or Inventor.
Desired
Previous experience in the nuclear industry, specifically in nuclear power plant safety and non-safety systems.
Location
Hybrid role based in New Stanton, PA; no relocation assistance offered.
