Physical Security Engineer
About this role
Physical Security Engineer at Westinghouse develops and implements safeguards and physical security protection system designs for nuclear facilities. You will conduct threat and vulnerability assessments, perform security evaluations of plant arrangements, and design critical asset protection systems to prevent sabotage, theft, and malicious acts at large-scale nuclear projects.
Responsibilities
- —Develop and implement safeguards and physical security protection system designs for nuclear facilities
- —Perform physical security assessments and evaluations including threat/vulnerability analysis and critical asset development
- —Design physical security system electrical and computer components to meet regulatory and contractual requirements
- —Read, interpret, and create engineering drawings and specifications for security systems
- —Prepare technical reports and specifications to satisfy NRC regulatory, code, and contract requirements
- —Provide engineering support for asset protection and physical security assessments across global nuclear operations
- —Collaborate with design, fabrication, construction, and maintenance teams on nuclear security projects
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, or Electrical); Minimum 3.0 GPA
Desired
Military or ROTC experience; Prior internship experience; Familiarity with nuclear power plant design and operations
Location
Cranberry Township, PA; Hybrid role requiring onsite presence 2 days per week
