Operator Trainee
About this role
Entry-level Operator Trainee at Clover Power Station (nuclear facility). Complete a 39-month developmental training program combining on-the-job training, classroom instruction, and self-study to become a licensed reactor operator. You will monitor and ensure safe, environmentally compliant operation of nuclear power generation equipment.
Responsibilities
- —Inspect, operate, and monitor nuclear power generation equipment
- —Perform daily routine operations and system monitoring
- —Execute Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) procedures for equipment maintenance and valve operations
- —Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and basic troubleshooting of reactor systems
- —Maintain entries in computer-based operational logbooks
Qualifications
- —High School Diploma or GED
- —0–2 years of experience
- —Valid driver's license
- —Ability to safely monitor and ensure equipment operation in compliance with nuclear safety and environmental standards
- —Basic knowledge of computer systems
Desired
- —Satisfactory results on EEI Plant Operators Selection System (POSS) aptitude test
- —Ability to perform Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) procedures
Location
Clover Power Station (nuclear facility); 12-hour rotating shifts including days, nights, weekends, and holidays. Position represented by IBEW Local Union 50. Starting pay $32.04/hour.
