Maintenance Operator Trainee- Electrical (St. Paul, VA)
About this role
Maintenance Operator Trainee role in the Electrical Program at Dominion Energy's St. Paul, Virginia nuclear power station. You will operate and maintain power generation equipment including turbines, pumps, electrical switchgear, and motors while completing formal training in electrical systems and maintenance operations.
Responsibilities
- —Inspect, operate, and monitor equipment used in electricity production
- —Perform daily routine operations and equipment monitoring
- —Isolate and tag equipment for maintenance purposes
- —Perform valve operations and make entries into computer-based logbooks
- —Perform maintenance on major industrial equipment such as pumps, turbines, and power station mechanical equipment
- —Perform maintenance on batteries, motors, switchgear, motor-operated valves, and other power station electrical equipment
Qualifications
- —High School Diploma or GED
- —Valid Driver's License
- —Ability to work around dust, grease, dirt, weather conditions, loud noise, and machinery
- —Ability to work 12-hour rotating shifts including days, nights, and weekends
Desired
- —Industrial or commercial electrical experience
- —Journeyman craftsman experience
- —Power plant or power generation operational or maintenance experience
- —Minimum three years' experience operating and maintaining major industrial equipment such as pumps, motors, valves, turbines, and electrical switchgear in an industrial environment
Location
St. Paul, Virginia; 12-hour rotating shifts (days, nights, weekends); onsite; exposure to cold, confined spaces, heat, loud noise, and machinery operation
