About this role
Maintenance Operator Trainee at Warren County Power Station (Dominion). This is a 56-month standardized skills development program combining classroom instruction and on-the-job training. You'll operate and maintain nuclear power station equipment including turbines, pumps, motors, switchgear, and electrical systems on rotating 12-hour shifts.
Responsibilities
- Inspect, operate, and monitor equipment used in electricity production
- Perform daily routine operations and equipment checks
- Isolate and tag equipment for maintenance using lockout/tagout procedures
- Perform valve operations and motor-operated valve maintenance
- Make entries into computer-based logbooks and maintain operational records
- Perform maintenance on major industrial equipment: pumps, turbines, and mechanical power station equipment
- Perform maintenance on batteries, motors, switchgear, motor-operated valves, and electrical equipment
Preferred qualifications
- Industrial or commercial electrical experience
- Journeyman craftsman certification
- Power plant, power generation, operational, or maintenance experience
- Minimum three years' experience operating and maintaining major industrial equipment (pumps, motors, valves, turbines, electrical switchgear) in industrial environments (shipyard, military, manufacturing, or power station)
Location, schedule, and travel
Warren County Power Station, Virginia. Two rotating 12-hour shifts (day and evening). Up to 25% exposure to cold, confined spaces, dust/grease/oil, heat, loud noise, outdoor conditions, and machinery. Requires relocation or travel to Richmond, Virginia for up to nine-week training periods.
