Operations Process Engineer
About this role
Lead process engineering initiatives across large, complex nuclear projects or multiple medium-sized programs at Westinghouse's Westlakes facility. Drive operational excellence through Lean methodology, strategic planning, and alignment with business objectives while ensuring technical compliance and project delivery.
Responsibilities
- —Lead process engineering requirements delivery across single large or multiple medium-sized projects
- —Implement Lean tools and improvements at functional and strategic levels to deliver sustainable business changes
- —Develop strategy using X-matrix, balanced scorecards, and KPIs to drive operational excellence
- —Ensure projects and change processes align with business strategic goals
- —Initiate and drive efficiency improvements using business KPIs
- —Develop policies, procedures, and strategic alignment initiatives
- —Develop 3–5-year tactical programs ensuring alignment to KDMs and long-term strategic objectives
- —Manage short-term tactical plans into operational delivery schedules
- —Forecast business needs and coordinate available work streams
- —Manage MPS (Master Production Schedule) including recovery plans and cross-level reporting
- —Engage and manage stakeholders program-wide
- —Mentor junior engineers and promote nuclear professionalism and HSE standards
- —Report to Project Manager
Qualifications
- —At least 10+ years' industry experience, with minimum 3 years at Senior Engineer level
- —5+ years in nuclear industry or other highly regulated sector
- —Greater than 10 years manufacturing management experience
- —Detailed knowledge of standards, regulations, codes and directives (Pressure Equipment Regulations, COMAH, COSHH, DSEAR)
- —Proven knowledge of process design theories, principles, practices, and techniques
- —Ability to undertake technical tasks and disclose technical limitations
- —Ability to work effectively with all management levels and support staff
- —Professional attitude with strong problem-solving approach
- —Strong teamwork and communication skills
Desired
- —Understanding of CAE packages
- —Willingness to mentor more junior engineers
