Operations Instructor - Nuclear
About this role
Design, develop, and deliver operator training at a nuclear facility for non-licensed operators, licensed operators, Shift Managers, and Shift Technical Advisors. Evaluate trainee performance, maintain training programs, and support daily operations across classroom and simulator settings.
Responsibilities
- —Analyze and design training curriculum for non-licensed operator, licensed operator, Shift Manager, and Shift Technical Advisor programs
- —Develop and conduct training in classroom and simulator environments for all operator training programs
- —Develop and administer examinations for operator training programs
- —Pursue and maintain qualifications including general instructor, simulator booth operator, SRO Certification, and simulator floor instructor credentials
- —Assist with self-assessments and evaluations of operator training programs
- —Assist with in-processing of contract employees for plant outages
- —Support plant refueling outages by transitioning to plant staff during extended periods
- —Function as a member of the site Emergency Response Organization (ERO)
- —Maintain training program documentation and manage Corrective Action Plans (CAP)
Qualifications
RO or SRO license or SRO Certification; expertise or familiarity with power plant operations; demonstrated ability to interface well with people and communicate effectively both orally and in writing; ability to effectively present training material to various class sizes with different entry-level knowledge; organizational and administrative skills to produce, maintain, and deliver accredited performance-based training; self-motivated with ability to work independently and in teams with minimal supervision; intermediate to advanced computer skills; ability to satisfy Company and Nuclear Regulatory Commission security requirements.
Desired
Technical expertise in electrical and mechanical maintenance, health physics, or chemistry.
