About this role
Nuclear Engineer 2 providing safety analysis and plant support to Wolf Creek Generating Station (PWR). Lead fuel reload design, perform complex transient analyses (LOCA, non-LOCA, containment), and manage the transition of core design and safety analysis methodology from WCNOC to Westinghouse processes. Serve as primary technical contact for customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Perform safety analysis engineering including complex design and analyses for fuel reloads (core, thermal-hydraulic design, Chapter 15 LOCA, non-LOCA, containment transient analysis)
- Support transition of WCNOC core design and safety analysis methodology to Westinghouse methodology
- Serve as directly responsible for daily WCNOC customer satisfaction in fuel reload design and support
- Provide periodic updates and recommendations on project status to internal and external personnel
- Develop and deliver presentations on statuses, problem resolutions, and recommendations
- Develop procedures, processes, and methods for implementing technical requirements
Preferred qualifications
Expertise in thermal-hydraulic computer codes (RETRAN02, VIPRE01, Westinghouse-specific equivalents). Familiarity with NRC requirements for safety analysis applications. Detailed knowledge of WCGS customer organization and fuel reload design, safety analysis, core performance, reactor engineering, and system engineering. Detailed knowledge of both existing WCGS and Westinghouse safety analysis methodologies.

Onsite at Wolf Creek Generating Station, Burlington, Kansas. Unescorted access required.
