Mechanical Engineer
About this role
Mechanical Engineer I at Westinghouse supporting nuclear and clean energy products. You will perform design, analysis, and technical evaluations of nuclear mechanical systems under direct guidance, with opportunities to develop skills for independent assignments while collaborating with senior engineers and project teams.
Responsibilities
- —Develop design analyses and evaluations of technical products for nuclear applications under supervision
- —Support manufacturing and field service during fabrication, assembly, and installation of nuclear components
- —Conduct design reviews and design-for-manufacturability reviews for nuclear systems
- —Communicate with internal engineering groups, customers, and vendors to gather requirements and technical information
- —Solve routine technical problems related to mechanical design and nuclear systems
- —Perform resource forecasting, cost analysis, and schedule tracking for design projects
- —Identify and recommend process improvements and support implementation of corrective actions
- —Support new business development opportunities in nuclear energy
Qualifications
- —Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
- —0+ years of experience (entry-level or early-career candidates welcome)
Location
Hybrid (2–3 days/week on-site), Shoreview, MN (approximately 20 minutes from downtown Minneapolis)
