About this role
Mechanical Engineer I in Westinghouse's Structural Design & Analysis Group performing design calculations and ASME Code analysis on reactor components. You'll translate performance and structural requirements into compliant engineering solutions while qualifying component designs using FEA and analytical methods.
Responsibilities
- Accomplish design and analysis plans from preliminary through final design, applying lessons learned and best practices
- Translate performance and structural requirements into compliant engineering solutions
- Qualify component designs using ANSYS-based thermal and structural FEA, closed-form analytical methods, and Westinghouse internal engineering codes
- Collaborate with systems, manufacturing, and component teams to ensure subsystem integration
- Resolve design and production issues
- Deliver high-quality engineering work that meets safety, quality, and schedule expectations
Location, schedule, and travel
Hybrid role based in Cranberry, PA; reports to Director of Reactor Component Engineering
