Mechanical Engineer 1
About this role
Mechanical Engineer supporting Westinghouse's reactor vessel internals design and analysis team. You'll perform structural, dynamic, and thermal hydraulic analyses on nuclear reactor components, develop design documentation, and coordinate with technical leads and customers on safety-critical projects.
Responsibilities
- —Provide technical support for reactor vessel internals design and analysis work
- —Perform analytical calculations (structural, dynamic, and thermal hydraulic) using engineering tools and methods
- —Develop documentation for calculations and analyses
- —Create design documentation for safety and non-safety related hardware, including manufacturing drawings, functional specifications, and qualification reports
- —Interface with technical leads, project managers, and customers to coordinate assigned work scope
- —Travel to customer sites, manufacturing vendors, and nuclear plants to provide on-site support, deliver presentations, and assist in issue resolution
Qualifications
BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering; minimum 3.0 GPA; capability to understand and interpret design documents including drawings and calculation summaries; capacity for conceptual design and development of design drawings.
Location
Hybrid (minimum 2 days/week on-site) at Cranberry Township, PA headquarters; occasional travel to customer sites, manufacturing vendors, and nuclear plants required.
