Required qualifications
Master's degree (Bac+5) in general or mechanical engineering or equivalent; 0–10 years experience in design or manufacturing projects; fluent English (written and spoken); proficiency in CAD software (Inventor, AutoCAD); knowledge of EUROCODES; strong writing and technical documentation skills; ability to work in multidisciplinary teams.
About this role
Design and develop special-purpose machinery for nuclear applications including machining, welding, metrology, and handling equipment. Lead mechanical design from concept through qualification and factory acceptance testing at Westinghouse's Marseille facility.
Responsibilities
- Participate in tooling concept definition during bidding phase
- Conduct feasibility and detailed engineering studies
- Perform CAD design and mechanical sizing calculations
- Select materials and electromechanical components
- Produce assembly drawings, detailed drawings, and bills of materials
- Create intervention sequence plans and handling procedures
- Write design, qualification, and implementation documentation
- Participate in workshop acceptance tests and tooling qualification activities
Preferred qualifications
Familiarity with Machinery Directive; nuclear industry experience; knowledge of RCC-M (Design and Construction Rules for Mechanical Components of PWR Nuclear Islands) regulations.
