Materials Engineer at Westinghouse developing materials for nuclear applications. Apply materials science knowledge to translate engineering requirements into test plans and analyses. Support clean energy solutions through advanced materials and manufacturing process development.

Responsibilities

  • Verify engineering work on assignments ranging from basic to complex
  • Provide technical guidance to national laboratories, universities, and industry partners
  • Apply engineering analysis to problem resolution using prior knowledge and literature review
  • Support advanced materials and manufacturing process development
  • Conduct hands-on material testing including mechanical testing, autoclave corrosion testing, and materials/chemical characterization
  • Interface with customers, national labs, and universities on collaborative development programs
  • Participate in multi-discipline teams
  • Conduct statistical analysis of test data results
  • Develop and deliver technical presentations on status and problem resolution

Preferred qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Materials Science or Chemical Engineering
  • Experience with zirconium-based alloys

Location, schedule, and travel

Hybrid, 2 days per week onsite in Churchill, PA. Local candidates only; no relocation support.
