Manager, Rod Control & Position Indication Systems Engineering
About this role
Lead and manage Westinghouse's Rod Control & Position Indication Systems Engineering team (15+ personnel). Oversee design, engineering, and technical support for nuclear rod control and position indication systems while driving organizational capability development, safety culture, and strategic alignment across internal and customer stakeholder relationships.
Responsibilities
- —Lead and manage 15+ person engineering team responsible for rod control and position indication systems design and support
- —Develop and implement training and development plans with focus on long-term resource needs and engineering skill enhancement
- —Provide feedback, performance evaluation, merit/promotion recommendations, and address performance issues
- —Establish and maintain safety-conscious culture, emphasizing nuclear safety, personnel safety, and industrial safety standards
- —Develop I&C technical and leadership capabilities to ensure bench strength and succession planning
- —Lead with strategic vision, communicate organizational goals, and promote alignment across the team
- —Monitor market and product value to ensure engineering solutions add value to customers and Westinghouse
- —Oversee corrective action program and quality standards across engineering processes
- —Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, maintenance, and engineering stakeholders
- —Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders to position Westinghouse as premier value-added supplier
Qualifications
- —Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field
- —Minimum 10 years of leadership experience
- —Knowledge and experience in instrumentation & control (I&C) systems
- —Demonstrated ability to develop customer-oriented engineering solutions aligned with profitability goals
- —Proven success in offer development, project estimation, planning, and execution of complex projects/programs
- —Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and build stakeholder relationships
Desired
- —MBA
- —Experience in instrumentation & control leadership
- —Nuclear industry knowledge
- —Experience with rod control and position indication systems
