Manager, Materials Procurement
About this role
Lead the Materials Procurement operations team at Entergy's nuclear and fossil power generation plants, managing safety-related and non-safety-related procurement while overseeing approximately 5 specialists. This role bridges procurement, supply chain, and plant operations to ensure equipment reliability, regulatory compliance (including NRC requirements for nuclear facilities), and optimized material sourcing across multiple generation facilities.
Responsibilities
- —Manage Materials Procurement operations team of ~5 direct reports, including recruitment, development, mentoring, and performance management
- —Ensure team prioritizes safety first through active promotion of safety behaviors, close call/good catch programs, and proactive field visits to nuclear/generation facilities
- —Drive excellence in procurement execution of materials and services, optimizing the tiered procurement model and leveraging Entergy's full spending power
- —Establish and maintain stakeholder relationships across plant departments (Maintenance, Production, Engineering, Operations, Chemistry, Project Management)
- —Provide outage support including emergency response, backshift coverage, and effective communication between plant management and procurement staff
- —Establish departmental objectives aligned with P&SC and Power Generation site expectations; actively solicit continuous improvement ideas
- —Monitor and influence suppliers to identify safety concerns and ensure compliance with quality and regulatory requirements (including NRC 10 CFR Part 21 and quality assurance programs)
- —Develop multi-year demand plans with integrated supply chain solutions and cross-functional teams
- —Execute Entergy's Local Spend objectives through supply base partners while maintaining highest ethical standards and regulatory compliance
- —Manage multiple and sometimes conflicting priorities while fostering proactive culture anticipating material needs and improvement opportunities
Qualifications
- —Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Accounting, Engineering, or related discipline plus 8+ years in materials/warehousing, purchasing, contracts, or project management; OR 12+ years of equivalent experience without degree
- —3+ years of supervisory experience and/or equivalent leadership experience
- —Strong knowledge of Supply Chain Management fundamentals and inventory management practices
- —Demonstrated knowledge of interfacing departments' processes and priorities in power generation/nuclear environments
- —Proven leadership skills with ability to drive results across departments
- —Outstanding communication, conflict management, and change management skills
- —Working knowledge of inventory, materials, or contracts computer systems
- —Ability to apply applicable codes and regulations including UCC, Contract Law, FERC, and NRC requirements
- —Technical understanding of nuclear and/or fossil generation principles and operations

Location
Hybrid role based in The Woodlands, Texas, with additional facilities in Little Rock, Arkansas; New Orleans, Louisiana; and Jackson, Mississippi. Up to 25% travel required.
