Maintenance Planner - Mechanical
About this role
Plan and prepare work packages for maintenance departments at Peach Bottom Clean Energy Center (PWR, two-unit facility) to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations in compliance with QA manuals, company policies, NRC regulations, and applicable codes. This role requires collaboration with Work Management, Supply, Operations, and Engineering teams to develop comprehensive maintenance procedures, conduct field walkdowns, and manage regulatory documentation including RWPs and ALARA task planning.
Responsibilities
- —Plan and prepare work instructions for corrective maintenance, preventive maintenance, surveillance, and modifications
- —Select and approve purchases or make procurement recommendations for all materials needed for work package execution
- —Conduct field walkdowns to identify and analyze corrective and preventive maintenance, modification, and surveillance activities
- —Interface and collaborate with Work Management, Supply, Operations, and Engineering to identify and resolve work package issues
- —Define procedures, drawings, equipment, and materials required to perform planned work packages
- —Prepare Out of Service (OOS), Radiation Work Permit (RWP), plant barrier impairments, welding/grinding permits, fire impairments, Operability impact statements, and ALARA task outs
- —Verify work instructions comply with CEC procedures, Nuclear Safeguard Protocols, ASME Code, and 10 CFR 50 standards
- —Approve and review work packages to ensure safety, quality, technical rigor, and 10 CFR 50.59 screening/evaluation
- —Develop, revise, and review maintenance procedures to enhance work package development and maintain compliance with codes and standards
- —Provide project management of system planners or contractors on package preparation
- —Participate in work control/scheduling meetings, planning feedback, contract requisition reviews, troubleshooting, EQR2 reviews, Operating Experience searches, and peer reviews
- —Support emergency response, departmental coverage, outage activities, and other assignments as directed
Qualifications
- —Bachelor's degree with 2 years of related experience, OR
- —Current or previous Senior Reactor Operator license with 2 years of related experience, OR
- —Associate's degree with 3 years of related experience, OR
- —High school diploma/GED with 4 years of related experience
- —Maintain minimum access requirement or unescorted access requirements and favorable medical examination/testing in accordance with position duties
Desired
- —5 years of experience in nuclear power plant operations
- —Experience with Work Management Software (AS9, Passport, or equivalent)
