Licensing Engineer II
About this role
Support Westinghouse's nuclear fleet licensing and regulatory strategy by developing licensing documents for NRC submittal, ensuring compliance with 10 CFR 50 and international standards. Collaborate with engineering teams on design change evaluations, technical specifications, and regulatory guidance to advance operating plant licenses.
Responsibilities
- —Develop licensing documents (10 CFR 50.59 evaluations, License Amendments, topical reports) for submittal to NRC and customers
- —Evaluate engineering design changes for regulatory compliance and licensing impact
- —Collaborate with multiple engineering disciplines to create licensing technical inputs
- —Participate in internal, customer, and NRC meetings to present technical materials and defend licensing positions
- —Support resolution of emergent licensing issues affecting operating plant licenses
- —Communicate status, findings, and recommendations to technical leads and management within scope, budget, and schedule
Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Nuclear, or Chemical); Minimum 3 years of nuclear engineering or licensing experience
Desired
10 CFR 50.59 evaluation experience; License Amendment and topical report development; Familiarity with NRC regulations and regulatory guides; Knowledge of nuclear power plant design, operation, and technical specifications
Location
Hybrid (2 days/week on-site): Cranberry Woods PA, Rock Hill SC, or Columbia SC; <10% US travel
